Editorial Policy
Who writes the health articles on this site, who checks them, how often they are updated and what we will not publish.
Last updated:
We publish articles on cat and dog health. Health information can cause harm when it is wrong, so we set out plainly how we work.
What the date on an article means
Every article carries a date under one of two labels:
- Last medically reviewed. A veterinarian, named on the page with the title they hold, went through the article on that date.
- Last updated. The article was edited on that date but has not yet been through veterinary review.
Our archive, published between 2022 and 2024, is being re-read in turn. The label at the top of each article tells you where that article stands. We would rather write this down than hide it.
What we correct
We do not quietly leave errors we find. As one example, our article on cats that cannot urinate carried instructions telling owners to empty the bladder by pressing on it by hand. That is dangerous: an obstructed bladder can rupture under pressure. The section was removed and replaced with an explanation of why it must not be done.
If you find something here that is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will correct it.
What we do not publish
Advertising is prohibited in the veterinary profession in Türkiye (Law 6343 and the regulations of the Turkish Veterinary Medical Association). So this site carries none of the following:
- Client reviews, testimonials or ratings
- Campaigns, discounts or price lists
- Comparisons with other clinics or claims of superiority
- Any title or qualification not earned by a diploma
We say what the clinic does, where it is and when it is open. We go no further than that.
The limit of this information
These pages are general information. No diagnosis can be made without seeing an animal, hearing its history and examining it. Nothing here replaces an examination by a veterinarian, and treatment should not be decided from these pages.
If you are worried about your animal, contact us or a veterinarian near you. We have gathered the signs that can be emergencies on a separate page.
